Adelina Nura
Adelina Nura received her Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Prishtina in 2005. Currently, Ms. Nura is a master’s degree candidate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Prishtina. Since October 2008, she has worked for the NGO “Protection of Victims and Prevent Trafficking of Human Beings (PVPT)” as a Rehabilitation Officer. Her main tasks include facilitating daily psychosocial activities, conducting psychological, educational and relaxing activities and managing cases involving victims of trafficking. Ms. Nura has also worked as a counsellor for a telephone helpline where she offered emotional support for people in need and as a project assistant at the Hope and Homes for Children. While completing the NAAC Hope Fellowship Program, Ms. Nura aims to improve the Psychological Service for Trafficked Victims. Ms. Nura desires to learn more about the systems and services available which can best respond to the complex and multiple needs of trafficked victims. She is interested in creating a psychological framework necessary for treating victims in Kosovo including all marginalized groups such as migrant labourers, victims of sexual abuse, domestic violence and torture. Ms. Nura originally comes from Skënderaj located in the north centre of Kosovo. She now lives in Fushë Kosovo and works in Prishtina.
Arbenita Pajaziti
Arbenita Pajaziti is Head of the Supply Unit in the Pharmaceutical Department at the Ministry of Health. Also, Ms. Pajaziti serves as an Expert on Reviewing Tender Complains at the Procurement Review Body. Previously, she was a Teaching Assistant in the Pharmaceutical Department of the Medical Faculty of Prishtina University. Ms. Pajaziti’s undergraduate degree is in pharmacy from the Pharmaceutical Department, at the Medical Faculty of Prishtina University. She has also studied at the University for Business and Technology where she became an International Expert on Public Procurement. Currently Ms. Pajaziti is PhD candidate at the Tirana University and a master student at the master’s degree in Public Procurement and Management from the University for Business and Technology in Prishtina, Kosovo. Currently, Ms. Pajaziti is receiving a specialization degree in clinical pharmacy from the Ministry of Health. Ms. Pajaziti’s HOPE Fellowship project is centered on improving the drug supply in the Public Sector through assessing current state of affairs, selection of essential medicines, procuring, distributing and rational drug use, and improving managerial support. Ms. Pajaziti has shown interest in introducing the Public Private Partnership and the Drug Reimbursement in Health System.Blerta Sulhasi
Blerta Sulhasi is a psychology teacher at Hajdar Dushi High School in Gjakova, Kosovo. Ms. Sulhasi teaches general psychology to 11th and 12th grade students, supervises the student-run magazine, and provides counseling services to students in need. Prior to this position Ms. Sulhasi worked as: a research supervisor for UNICEF, Kosovo; as a psycho-educative staff for Children for Tomorrow- Kosovo; a TV and radio show psychologist for Television Syri Vision, in Gjakova, Kosovo; a researcher for War Child and World Child; and an environmental coordinator for the Kosovor Youth Council. Ms. Sulhasi holds a master’s of science degree in clinical psychology and a degree in Psychology from Prishtina University. Ms. Sulhasi’s project, in the field of health and social welfare, is to establish a school- based Mental Health Service that will address the learning problems, learning disabilities, anxiety, mood, disruptive disorders, as well as substance abuse issues that surround children and adolescents. Ms. Sulhasi lives and works in Gjakova, a city located in western Kosovo.Merita Emini-Sadiku
Merita Emini-Sadiku is an internal medicine specialist currently working as an assistant of internal medicine at the Medical Faculty of the Prishtina University. Prior to this position Ms. Emini-Sadiku was a resident doctor in the Internal Medicine Department at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (UCCK). Ms. Emini-Sadiku also served as a medical doctor at the Family Medicine Centre in Obiliq; and as a medical coordinator at the Kosovo Rehabilitation Centre of Tortured Victims. In 2000, she graduated from the University of Tirana in the Medical Faculty, in 2007 she completed a Master’s of Science at the Prishtina University, in 2009 her specialization in internal medicine in the UCCK; and currently is in sub-specialization for endocrinology in the University Clinical Centre of Albania and a PhD candidate at the University of Zagreb. She have a numerous of scientific researches some of them published in peer review journals. From 2009 she is teaching professor of medical subjects in the department of Psychology in the Private University FAMA. Ms. Emini Sadiku’s NAAC Hope Fellowship project aims to pursue new avenues of the nutrition, appropriate diets for patients with diabetes, obesity and other diseases, and to increase the knowledge of students and the medical staff about healthy food.Mimoza Ahmetaj
Mimoza Ahmetaj is a medical doctor with a vast advisory experience and considerable expertise in politics, health policy, and gender and human rights affairs projects in Kosovo. Currently she is self-employed as a dentist in a Private Clinic, and serves as an adviser on Health Issues to the Prime Minister of Kosovo. Prior to this position Mimoza was a member of the Kosovo Assembly for three years, where she mainly was responsible for representing the interests of the people in Kosovo; especially regarding health issues, advising on health polity, social welfare and human rights in Kosovo. Also while at the Kosovo Assembly, Ms. Ahmetaj developed and implemented health and social welfare policies, conducted research, as well as presented political opinions, laws and recommendations at the committee level. Prior to serving in the Kosovo Assembly, Ms. Ahmetaj worked as an Orthodontist in the Medical Faculty, Dental School in Prishtina and Skopje University for three years. Ms. Ahmetaj’s educational background includes a medical degree in dentistry from the Prishtina University, specialization in Orthodontics also from the Prishtina University, and currently completing a master’s degree in Health Management in Prishtina through Vienna University. Ms. Ahmetaj’s project will be focused on researching policy writing to promote the importance for the establishment of the Kosovo Health Insurance System, writing draft law on the Health Insurance and looking at funding structures for health Insurance.Nezahat Ramadani-Salihu
Nezahat Ramadani-Salihu is the national director of the SOS Children’s Villages Kosovo, which is an independent non-governmental social development organization. SOS works in the spirit of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. With the SOS Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of children without parental care, orphans and abandoned children. Her responsibilities include: leading, managing, and developing the national association as its chief executive; as well as ensuring effective delivery of programs and services to youth, families and communities within the frame of the organizations’ vision, mission and values. Prior to this position, Ms. Ramadani-Salihu was the SOS kindergarten director; program officer of the quality education at the Catholic Relief Services; and project officer at the Trauma Recovery Project with the Catholic Relief Services. Ms. Ramadini-Salihu received her Master of Arts degree in pedagogy at the Philosophy Department at the University of Prishtina. She also is studying for a second undergraduate in engineering from the Technical Department in the Prishtina University. Ms. Ramadani-Salihu’s project involves implementing long-term psycho-pedagogical models of family-based child care for children in need and children deprived of child care with the SOS Family / Community Integration Program.Nora Binishi-Dushi
Nora Binishi-Dushi, graduated in 1991 from the Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Prishtina University with a Bachelor of Science in architecture. In addition, Ms. Dushi holds a Master of Science degree in professional studies in public administration from the American University in Kosovo. Since December 2006 Ms. Dushi has served as the Chief of Construction Sector in the Ministry of Public Administration. Her main responsibilities include organizing and supervising technical maintenance and renovation works in government buildings. Previously, she has served as an engineer of accommodation at the Ministry of Public Administration, a site engineer at Nartel Construction Company, and helped engineer shelter programs for the NGO “Norwegian Refugee Council,” and the International Rescue Committee. Despite being an architect, but engaged in hygienic and technical maintenance of government buildings, Ms. Dushi’s HOPE Fellowship project involves the promotion of qualitative hygienic maintenance, safety and security of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (UCCK) and its clinics. Ms. Dushi’s project contends, and seeks to address, the real need for qualitative hygienic maintenance in order to decrease health-care-associated infections and also improve building’s infrastructure due to obtain the lifespan of health facilities.Zarife Miftari
Zarife Miftari originally from Medvegja, Presheva Valley, works at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Office in Prishtina as their project manager. Zarife is mainly responsible for cooperative activities with governmental counterparts and NGOs, contributing and formulating designing projects, developing policies and establishing appropriate monitoring mechanisms. Simultaneously, Ms. Miftari is engaged in the Prishtina Municipal Court as a forensic expert. Previously, Ms. Miftari worked for the University of Prishtina’s Medical Faculty as an associate professor. Ms. Miftari graduated with a doctorate in medicine from the University of Tirana’s Medical Department and in 2000. In 2001, she joined the University of Prishtina’s Institute of Forensic Medicine as a specialist of forensic medicine. In 2002, Zarife received her master’s degree in Forensic Medicine from the Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Dundee, Scotland, UK. Ms. Miftari’s project is increasing community awareness of genital cancer by promoting routine genital screening. Her project includes awareness promotion, especially among marginalized groups, the improvement of genital screening services in primary health care and the strengthening of the referral system linking primary-secondary-tertiary level of care.
